About Me

Peng Xu is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University. He was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford, UK, and also a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research work involves multimodal learning, computer vision, deep learning, machine learning, etc. He has published a series of research works, especially in perception and understanding of sparse and abstract special modal data (e.g., handwritten hand-drawn, graphs, etc.). His models and algorithms have been validated on large-scale datasets at the enterprise level, and the application scenarios include hand-drawn human-computer interaction, intelligent security, intelligent healthcare, and other tasks.

Currently, he has published more than 10 papers as the first author, including 7 SCI papers (including 5 long papers in IEEE compendium), with a total impact factor of 65, and he was awarded the Best Paper Award of IEEE IC-NIDC 2016, an international academic conference. He served as a guest editor of IEEE TPAMI. He also serves as a senior program member of IJCAI, an artificial intelligence conference. He has organized two workshops at CVPR, the top conference on computer vision, and one workshop at ICML, the top conference on machine learning, as the first organizer. In recent years, he has served as a reviewer for many well-known academic journals and conferences (TPAMI, TNNLS, CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.).

He has chaired and participated in a number of national key research and development programs.
