About Me
Ning Ding is an Assistant Professor and Ph.D. advisor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University. His research centers on artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the theories, methods, and systems behind general-purpose AI with strong reasoning abilities, and on applying them to innovative scientific discovery.
He has published extensively at AI venues including Nature Machine Intelligence, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, and ACL, with more than 16,000 citations on Google Scholar, and the open-source projects he leads have earned over 30,000 stars on GitHub. The data and models he has proposed have powered more than 2,000 foundation models worldwide and are widely adopted by leading organizations including Google, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Shanghai AI Laboratory, and Tencent, with broad impact across both academia and industry.
His honors include selection for the Young Elite Scientists Sponsorship Program of CAST, the ACL Best System Demonstration Paper Award, the WAIC Outstanding Young Paper Award and the Yunfan Award, the Best Academic Paper Award of the China Computational Power Conference, Tsinghua University’s Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, the Baidu Scholarship, and a place on Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% scientists.
